Real Representation for Real People

A Law Firm for the Legal Needs in Your Life

Jason Van Dyke

Attorney

During his career of over sixteen years, Mr. Van Dyke has served as general counsel for factoring companies, commercial debt collection agencies, and credit repair companies with a particular focus on the collection of business-to-business debts and an emphasis on the use of receiverships to collect Texas judgments. He currently has professional relationships with multiple collection agencies who use him exclusively in Texas to serve their clients. While most well-known for his civil practice, Mr. Van Dyke has also practiced in the area of criminal defense his entire career. He is currently lead counsel for all felony cases accepted by the firm, all juvenile cases, and all other cases originating in Wise, Jack, Parker, Montague, or Young County.

Mr. Van Dyke is a strong constitutionalist and conservative who has also gained notoriety for representing the so-called “dissident right” in a variety of ways. He is a forceful advocate for the First and Second Amendment and is especially concerned with how the rights of those with views outside of the mainstream are being trampled by both the government and non-government organizations. While his representation of a particular client does not constitute his endorsement of that client’s views or activities, he views it as his sacred responsibility to protect the right of unpopular groups to peacefully speak, assemble, organize, and petition.

Outside of law practice, Mr. Van Dyke is an avid shooter and hunter. He has taught numerous individuals how to shoot and still teaches classes to select students. He is certified by the Ultimate Waterfowlers Challenge as a Grandmaster Waterfowl Hunter and has registered a Royal Slam of wild turkeys with the National Wild Turkey Federation. Mr. Van Dyke is a Patriot Life Member of the National Rifle Association (Benefactor Level) and certified by the NRA as both a pistol instructor and range safety officer. He is also a member of the Texas State Rifle Association, Texas Trophy Hunters Association, Dallas Safari Club, and Ducks Unlimited. Additionally, Mr. Van Dyke is an Eagle Scout and a brown belt in both Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo.

Education

Mr. Van Dyke is a native of Troy, Michigan who graduated from Lutheran High School Northwest in 1998 before matriculating to Michigan State University. It always having been his desire to live in Texas and to attend a school more consistent with his views, he transferred to University of Dallas in 2001 where earned his bachelor’s degree in December 2003. He began his legal education at Stetson University College of Law in January of 2004 and graduated with both his Juris Doctor and a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy in December of 2006. Mr. Van Dyke had passed the Texas bar exam prior to his graduation from law school and was sworn in less than two months after his graduation.
